The Silver Screen Starlet!

Sometimes I have no idea what to do to a piece of furniture. It can sit in my basement for months before I *all of a sudden* know exactly what to do for it....if lightening doesnt strike, I dont touch it...because Ive forced things before and  always failed miserably. This piece was different..everytime I looked at it images of the classic silver screen starlets came in my head...Viven Leigh, Clara Bow...stunning, beautiful women with perfect lipstick that you know is vixen red even though the film is in black and white. I LOVE to watch these movies curled up in bed late at night....I havent done that lately tho, so I have no idea where this stuff  all of a sudden came from but I decided to roll with it.

Sidenote: Vivien Leigh is my favorite classic movie Star!
Gone with the Wind...yes. It IS my very favorite movie e-v-e-r.
Anytime Im sick in bed, no one can make me feel better other than Rhett Butler....and Scarlet....and I always cry at the end....*siigh* I love that movie...

Alright so, here is my silver star before makeup...HaHaHa: Get it? Makeup? HaHaHa!

She was in solid, wonderful condition but needed some cosmetic love with wood filler, a couple new screws, sanding, primer and then finally ..paint.

Yes, handpainted. I learned on this piece that I do not, at all enjoy spray painting nor am I any damn good at it.

Lightly distressed, oil glazed...she is after all a "vintage piece" and needed to show some experience.

Ugg...flash..but you know I had to do it.

Im super excited and a bit surprised at how great she translated into what was in my head....because that actually never happens..

*smile*

  5. Your table is masterful in my opinion. "She" is a classic star all dressed in her glory now and ready to be the star of the show! I was captivated by your introduction......good job!
