In anycase, I did get enough downloaded to show them off here...Its a coffeetable/sidetable set and altho Ive been making a conscienous effort in taking better photo's...coffee tables are HARD, plus the best light in my house is up 3 flights of stairs. I know Ive been bootcamping it for 6 months...however, its awkward angles that strand me with this one.
Before:
Solid wood, 100% sturdy and fancy legs. This is the kinda stuff that I dream about.
The sidetable I whipped up in a couple days but honestly, I struggled with what to do for the coffee table. My personal taste doesnt enjoy matching things...More flea market chic the better for me but as I was venting to the Mister..he reminded me that in this situation, Im not really the norm and that most people like things to match and go-together...ok. You're probably right. Done.
I did an abstract painting on the top of both pieces in brown, cream and a honey yellow. Then I created a "frame" around the piece by painting on swirly frame-ish details..a lil distressing, a lil glaze and Viola!
I LOVE the sidetable..
K...its now 12:26pm, and since Blogger decided to go jerk on me too today, Im calling it past lunch AND friends-off with this computer today. Im sure it's weather related since everything thats been breaking down or grumpy (including people) has been weather related. Its minus-hell freezing over again today and I heard on the radio that we're on day 125 of straight snow on the ground and cold..even for the Canadian Prairies its ridiculous...Off to drink paint!

ReplyDeleteNo, sadly...Im not. Well, actually I want too but cant. We eat waaaay too many meals in the living room watching movies or tv or playing Wii that we need to keep our ugly higher one.
